WHOOPS. I’m a bit of a blogging, wordpress, neophyte, and apparently I goofed up Muffin’s post. The pictures weren’t showing, and I really want you guys to see how awesome this kitty is. So I’m rebooting. Thanks for your patience.
Salt and Katie, from Salt and the Sea Venture, were some of the first English cats to settle in the New World. If you have a cat, it is probably a descendant of Salt and Katie.
Muffin is today’s descendant.
He has a beautiful coat color that is a mixture of Salt’s pure white, and very faint gray tabby markings.
He was rescued by a lovely woman named Carla Burke from the woods near her home. You can see in this early picture that he was a bit scrawny with a lot of discharge from his eyes. But Carla worked to turn him around.
Looking better already
Look mom, my eyes are all cleared up. I love it here. Thank you for helping me.
Look how shiny and healthy my coat has gotten.
Now I’m what they call, “fat and happy.” What a lucky boy.
Not only is Carla a cat savior, she is also a terrific writer. She has published two books. “I Spy a Dragon Fly.” winner of the 2011 Christian Literary Award, and “My Name May be Peanuts, but I Say no to PB&J.” This is an important story for kids effected by an allergy to peanuts, and their classmates as well.
Thanks for sharing Muffin with us.
